All Aboard the Glen Oak Express
Before your ride, please take a moment to review important information about the Glen Oak Express, including ride rules, ticketing details, boarding procedures, and frequently asked questions. These guidelines help create a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for all guests during Friday night rides at Glen Oak Park.
The Glen Oak Express offers a relaxing 10 to 15 minute ride through scenic Glen Oak Park as part of the Peoria Park District’s FriYAY summer event series.
Train rides begin at 5 p.m., with departures every 20 minutes throughout the evening. The final ride of the night departs at 7:20 p.m.
The train will wind around Glen Oak Park showcasing the playgrounds, PlayHouse, lagoon and more!
The train does not stop- entry and exit is at the Barton Pavilion, the main entrance to Peoria Zoo.
For your convenience, stroller parking is available outside the Zoo for Glen Oak Express riders.
Please note that the Peoria Park District is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Guests are encouraged to take all valuables with them while enjoying the train.
- Riders must be age 16+ or accompanied by an adult
- Remain seated at all times
- Keep hands, arms, feet, and head inside the train at all times
- Remain on the train until it comes to a complete stop
- The train does not stop during the ride. Please be prepared for a 10+ minute ride
- No open food or beverages allowed onboard
- No smoking, cannabis or vaping permitted
- Failure to follow ride rules or conductor instructions may result in removal from the attraction
- Train rides may be delayed or canceled due to weather or operational needs
Tickets are available online on this website. Tickets can only be purchased on the day of the event. Please note that your location services must be turned on, and you must be located in the park.
Tickets are valid only for the ride time selected. All sales are final.
In the event the District cancels the ride due to weather or operational needs, an automatic refund will be placed back on your original payment method.
